In 1970, the artist couple, François Lalanne and Claude Lalanne organized a cannibal dinner at Daniel Spoerri’s Eat Art gallery.
For the meal, Lalanne made a cast of himself, which he then cut into pieces and used as molds for various dishes. The head, for example, was made out of lamb tongue and rows of sausage (for the brain), mushrooms served as eyeballs, while their irises were made of truffles.
The picture above shows cutlery designed by his wife Claude for Le Dîner Cannibale.
